                 Dr. Sophie VINOY

                         PhD, Nutrition Research Group Leader,
                         Mondele-z International R&D, Saclay,
                         France
Sophie Vinoy obtained her PhD from the French Paris University of life science and health on human physiology. After
a short period in adaptive physiology, she joined the nutrition research department of Danone and took the lead of
metabolism team. She moved to global nutrition department of Kraft Foods/ Mondele-z International as nutrition
senior research group leader. She and her team launched several international research programs in collaboration
with academic teams. She is strongly involved in the European International Life Science Institute (ILSI) through
three taskforces on carbohydrates, eating behavior, and diabetes & obesity prevention. Her primary interest is the
impact of food on postprandial metabolism linked to disease prevention. Related to this research area, she also
studies low grade inflammation and satiety. Her main publications are on carbohydrate metabolism and investigated
specifically health interest of starch digestibility, as well as satiety.

                 Prof. Martine LAVILLE

                         MD-PhD, Professor of Nutrition,
                         Medical School, Lyon 1 University,
                         France
Martine Laville is a MD-PhD, Professor of Nutrition at Medical school in Lyon 1 University. She is the director of
Rhône-Alpes Research Center for Human Nutrition (CRNH Rhône-Alpes, France) and the president of the European
Center for Nutrition and Health (CENS). CENS brings together all the local forces in human nutrition research (ranging
from molecular and cellular aspects to economics and social sciences) in connection with the European network of
research centers in Nutrition. She is the leader of the French Obesity Research Center of Excellence (FORCE) a network
between Lyon-Paris and Toulouse to develop trials for obesity treatment. She is involved in European infrastructure
projects ECRIN (leader of the work package dedicated to nutrition), EuroDISH. Her major research interest is about
the mechanisms involved in obese and diabetic with different approaches from food habits to molecular biology. She
also works on the biodisponibility and health properties of nutrients especially carbohydrates and lipids. She has
published more than 190 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

                 Prof. Edith FESKENS

MD-PhD, Chair in Nutrition and Health over the Lifecourse,
                         Wageningen University,
                         Netherlands
Prof. Dr. Edith Feskens, PhD (1962) is Chair in Nutrition and Health over the Lifecourse at Wageningen University,
Netherlands. She is trained in nutrition science and epidemiology and her research focuses on diet (nutrients, foods
and dietary patterns) and cardiometabolic disease. She is principal investigator of NQplus, a longitudinal study on
diet, eating behavior and health, and collaborates on the role of diet and diabetes and cardiovascular disease in e.g.
the Rotterdam Elderly Study, Leiden Longevity Study, CODAM study and various studies in the developing countries.
She has led work packages in the EU projects InterAct (diabetes), Diogenes (obesity) and PREVIEW (diabetes).
Her work includes studies on genetics, molecular epidemiology, ageing, satiety, insulin resistance, inflammation,
biomarkers and dietary patterns. Prof. Feskens has co-authored ~ 385 peer reviewed research articles (h-index 64)
and supervised 40 PhD students towards completion of their theses.
